Organic Tuberose Essential Oil (extracted by Enfleurage)

Most Tuberose Essential Oils (technically Absolutes) are solvent extracted using harsh chemicals. Make a better choice and choose our 100% pure all natural organic Tuberose Essential Oil (Polianthes tuberosa), extracted by the ancient method of Enfleurage.

Organic Tuberose Essential Oil Our organic Tuberose Essential Oil (Polianthes tuberosa) is pure undiluted Tuberose Oil extracted by Enfleurage. Our rare organic Tuberose Oil is technically an absolute, but, unlike other absolutes, ours is produced in a much more natural way by a small grower in South America who extracts the essenital oil from the flower by the ancient method of enfleurage.

Using only palm oil (organic) and alcohol (organic) derived from local sugar cane (organic), the entire process of extracting the tuberose oil is done by hand using no heat and no harsh chemical solvents unlike other tuberose absolutes that are produced using the harsh chemical, hexane. In this gentle process, pure local palm oil is used to absorb the aromatic oils from the tuberose flower petals and once the palm oil is completely saturated with the essence of the tuberose flower then the palm oil is separated from the Tuberose oil by mixing it with pure cane sugar alcohol which is then evaporated, leaving only the pure Tuberose oil.

The process for producing the Tuberose Absolute by Enfleurage is quite labor intensive and requires many pounds of tuberose flower petals per ml of oil but the results are astounding. The aroma of our tuberose oil extracted by enfleurage is quite similar to that of the actual tuberose flower. For more info on the organic enfleurage extraction process, go to: Enfleurage

Tuberose Field More Info: Tuberose essential oil / tuberose absolute is one of the most precious oils in the world and is renouned for its' mesmerizing aroma and fragrance. The rich, somewhat slightly spicy, tenacious and sweet-floral fragrance of the Tuberose flower is quite distinct from all other flowers. Perfumes using Tuberose are quite fabulous and are very expensive. But, the fact is that you can create your own simple Tuberose Perfume by simply diluting the Tuberose Essential Oil to about 5% in a carrier or base oil on in alcohol or a combination of the two. The unique aroma of Tuberose can rejuvenate the mind and body and Tuberose's magical fragrance is also considered to have powers as an aphrodisiac. In India tuberose essential oil is called "Mistress of the Night". Tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa) is native to Central America. Aztec healers called tuberose essential oil omixochitl (bone-flower) due to the waxy, luminous white flowers. In Ayurvedic tradition, tuberose is also known to stimulate serenity, creativity and psychic powers and is used to increase capacity for emotional depth by opening the crown chakra. Additionally, tuberose essential oil possesses powerful anti-spasmodic and anti-inflammatory healing properties as well.

Tuberose oil, like Lily, Jasmine and a few others, cannot be distilled like most essential oils due to the delicate nature of the flowers. Enfleurage was the traditional method of extraction used in ancient Egypt and into the early 20th century but solvent extraction using hexane, to create "absolutes", has virtually replaced enfleurage, except, of course, for our own Tuberose Absolute. Solvent extracted Tuberose is used extensively by the perfume industry but, again, not by us (no chemicals other than organic alcohol are used to extract the Tuberose Essential Oil that we sell). Either method (enfleurage or solvent extraction) is time consuming and oil yields are quite small for the amount of materials used. Over 3500 pounds of blossoms are needed to produce 1 pound of the essential oil which is why Tuberose Essential Oil is one of the most expensive oils on earth, even more than most rose attars. Tuberose oil is frequently combined with jasmine and orange blossom in perfumery to produce a tuberose perfume. In traditional Hawaian wedding ceremonies, Tuberose flowers are worn as a wreath around the head of the bride.

Known by its romantic and sensual names "Night Queen" and "Mistress of the Night", Tuberose absolute behaves as an aphrodisiac and its very strong, intense and intoxicating floral fragrance fills the air and creates an atmosphere of love. Tuberose oil is found to be very effective in treating frigidity and lack of libido etc. Specific components of this essential oil stimulate those parts of the brain which are responsible for arousals, sexual feelings and libido. Tuberose essential oil also relaxes the mind and relieves tension and has a warming effect on the organs as it increases circulation of blood which in turn helps cure erectile dysfunctions, impotency etc.

Tuberose Absolute is world famous for its use in perfumes and the rich, intense and long lasting floral fragrance is an ideal choice for a deodorant and that is one reason why tuberose essential oil is so popular in the countries with hot and humid climates. The pleasant fragrance and some components of this oil have relaxing effects on the brain, nerves and the muscles. It calms down and gives relief from stress, tension, anxiety, depression, anger, nervous afflictions, convulsions, cramps, spasmodic coughs and diarrhoea etc. In very amounts (well diluted), Tuberose Absolute is good in sedating inflammations, particularly pertaining to nervous system and the respiratory system.

Tuberose Absolute stimulates and increases blood circulation in the body thereby inducing a warming effect. This effect counters feeling of cold in winters, keeps the respiratory system warm and prevents deposition of phlegm and catarrh, increases activity and also helps cure sexual disorders.
